Troy photoTroy Vetterkind has been a FuturesLine commentator for more than two years, offering listeners an overview of cash fed cattle, feeder cattle, slaughter cow and boxed beef markets, along with cash hog and dressed pork markets every morning. Troy’s comments focus on what impact developments in these sectors have on the futures market throughout the day. Troy also presents speculative trade and producer hedge strategies for both cattle and hog markets, analyzing whether the markets are trading on fundamental or technical aspects. His broadcast also includes daily technical support, resistance and pivot numbers for the upcoming trade.

Troy has been trading commodity futures for eighteen years with an emphasis on meat and grain markets. He brings to FuturesLine a vast knowledge of cash livestock and meat values and their proper use in conjunction with the futures and options market to better service both hedge and speculative customers alike.

Troy grew up on his family's cattle and grain farm in north central Wisconsin. He also worked for the local livestock auction market and neighborhood dairy farmers. Troy has worked in many different segments of the livestock and meat industries before moving to Lubbock, Texas, where he attended Texas Tech University, pursuing a degree in meat and animal science and worked at a 60,000 head cattle feedlot.

Troy has been in Chicago for the last seven years where he was employed by Iowa Grain Company as a risk management broker for grain and livestock producers all across the country, a year of which he spent as a broker in the live and feeder cattle pits at the CME.
